In a Seminar at the International Food Policy Institute (IFPRI), Washington D.C. in 2014, Dr. Berhe described Teff as an “Outstanding Grain for Healthy Food and Ethiopia’s Latest Gift to the World.” It was not an exaggeration. Teff was also named “The next Super food” by (Huffington Post, The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Business Insider in 2014) and by (New York Times, BBC, The Economist and National Geography Magazine in 2016).
Our first purpose at SHEBA FARMS is to blend the promotion of Teff with education and health initiatives around the world. We believe that by raising awareness about the health benefits of Teff, we can help combat malnutrition and promote healthy lifestyles. Additionally, we are committed to supporting education initiatives that will help farmers to improve their agricultural practices and produce higher quality crops. Through our work, we hope to empower farmers and communities to take control of their food supply and improve their overall well-being.
Our second purpose is to produce and manufacture Teff seeds from Ethiopia in Northern California. By growing Teff locally, we can ensure a steady supply of this nutritious grain while also supporting sustainable farming practices. We are committed to using the latest technology and best practices to produce high-quality Teff seeds that are free from contaminants and meet strict quality standards.
